About Glen House

Escape to a tidal island steeped in 16th-century history. Your pilgrimage to Holy Island will see you crossing the Northumberland coast by a narrow causeway that gradually gets washed away by the North Sea. 

Glen House is a simple, mid-terrace cottage on the island's main street, just half a mile away from Lindisfarne Castle. It's a comfortable place to rest after exploring the island. You’ll be within walking distance of Lindisfarne Priory, sandy beaches and the iconic boat sheds by the harbour. Holy Island is also renowned for its abundance of wildlife, with rare seabirds and seals gracing the coastline. 

St Oswald's Cottage (sleeps five) is a short walk from Glen House. The cottages can be booked together for a group stay.

Ground floor: Sitting room with woodburner and television. Open-plan kitchen and dining room.

First floor: Bedroom with double bed. Bathroom with shower over bath.

Access: Island is accessible by a tidal causeway. This will affect when you can gain access to the cottage, please check on booking.

Heating: Oil central heating included. 

Parking: There is on street parking available.

Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm.

Please note: The bed at this cottage is a zip and link and can be set as a twin (2 x 3ft single beds) or as a super king size bed (6ft wide). Please advise at time of booking if you wish the bed to be a double or twins.

During the winter months the pub and 2 hotels are only open on a limited basis. Please also note that during the winter months it is a very quiet and tranquil place.

Garden: There is a small grassed area to the rear of the cottage, however foot access is required to the next door cottage.

WiFi: We’re pleased to provide free WiFi access at this accommodation, which is supported by BT. Please note intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and therefore should not be relied upon.
